Vimy at 100 – An Illustrious Honour

One hundred years ago today, many young Canadian men fought and died to take a small hilltop German position in northern France during World War One.

Today, the people of Brampton along with Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell, honoured those whose sacrifice on the field of battle meant “a coming of age” for the country as a whole, and a new sense of national cohesiveness that has mostly endured for the last century.
