Our Brian Williams

He’s the voice of the Canadian Olympic television broadcasts.

And the 70-year-old originally from Winnipeg, Canada, will be in front of the cameras for the 2016 Rio Olympics broadcast for CTV and TSN this August.

A member of the Order of Canada and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, Williams had been the studio anchor for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s production of Olympic, F1 auto racing, and Queen’s Plate horse racing telecasts for decades, and has been with the CBC’s rival CTV and TSN networks for the past ten years.

He is, of course, not Brian Williams, the 57-year-old American who anchors the MSNBC news desk and has never, as far as I know, ridden in an American military helicopter during the Iraq War.
