Germany Advances – Barely

Germany missed three penalty kicks at the end of extra time in the quarter-final match of Euro 2016 against Italy on Saturday.

Unfortunately for Italy, they missed four.

And that was the difference after nine rounds of one-on-one kicks from the spot as Jonas Hector, the 26-year-old left back from Saarbrucken, deposited the winning kick under Italian netminder Gianluigi Buffon’s arms as a mostly red, white and green coloured fanbase filled Brampton’s Graden Square to watch the match on the big screen.

Germany now faces either home side France or the amazing Iceland squad.
