Christmas in July, Champagne Every Day

The only thing ‘bubbly’ today at the Brampton Farmers Market, as T by Daniel owner Daniel Lewis handed out his Strawberry Champagne tea samples, was the young business entrepreneur’s personality.

Logan Kilgore To Steer Ship

Mired deep in the Toronto Argonauts quarterback depth chart for a few years now, 26-year-old Logan Kilgore is now getting a chance to step up and throw footballs in a meaningful way this Sunday in CFL action against the Redblacks in Ottawa.

Even with three-time Grey Cup champion Ricky Ray sidelined for most of last season for shoulder surgery, Kilgore found himself with the headset on in 2015 watching backup Trevor Harris run plays on the field while Ray healed.

This year, with Harris traded to Ottawa and teaming up with Henry Burris, and Ricky Ray, below right, temporarily on the sideline with a knee brace due to an MCL injury, Kilgore is now in the top spot behind centre on the field for at least a month.

Kilgore took snaps during practice Thursday at the Argos’ Downsview practice facility while preparing for Sunday’s game.

The Middle Tennessee State product, signed out of college by the New Orleans Saints and released by the NFL squad in September of 2014, was picked up by the Argos quickly and placed on the practice squad.

Argos head coach Scott Milanovich says that Kilgore is a natural thrower with good vision, anticipation, and arm strength and that he has complete faith in the young QB as he steps into the limelight this weekend.
