Full of Grace

There couldn’t be a more appropriate name for the waterproofing material to which construction crews are applying the wooden shake and shingles on the roof of the new St. Elias Ukrainian Catholic Church on Heritage Road in Brampton, Ontario.

Following an accidental fire in early April of 2014 that burned the building to the ground, Pastor Roman Galadza has been more than graceful, and equally grateful, during the past two years of rebuilding the beautiful Boyko-style Ukrainian building.

The completion of the rebuilding of the church is a mere couple of months away, said Galazda on Monday, with the new copper-covered cupolas ready to be lifted to position on the top of the church next week, and the first wedding scheduled for two months from now.

As crews scaled the roof to put down shingles, Pastor Galadza spent the afternoon on his new grass cutting machine at the rear of the tranquil countryside property.
