The number two figured prominently at Woodbine Friday as the Number 2 horse raced to victory in the first two races of the day at the big Toronto racetrack.
Alan Garcia rode Colleen’s Sailor, below, across the wire in the first race of the day.
The Roger Attfield-trained 7-year-old, who is also a great-grandson of the famous 1977 Triple Crown-winner Seattle Slew, helped Garcia take his first win of the day.
In Race 2, Sheena Ryan rode Starship Gambler from the two-slot and picked up one of her two wins on the day.
Starship Gambler also made it two wins in a row for seven-year-olds.
Jockey Eurico Rosa Da Silva rode two Number 2 horses to victory – two of his three wins for the afternoon – aboard Bear’s Pearl in the sixth race and Southern Ring two races later in the eighth.
Two jockeys also shared three wins apiece on the day, with Da Silva sharing triple trips to the winner’s circle with Alan Garcia.
