Olympic Training: One Step At A Time

Getting her Canadian citizenship is just one of the many steps three-time World Champion wrestler Miyuu Yamamoto is taking in her goal to compete for Canada at the next Olympics.

And Wednesday at the Scotiabank Pond training facility at Toronto’s Downsview Park, Yamamoto took literally hundreds and hundreds of steps in that direction as she worked out climbing stairs in a rear stairwell of the building.

Yamamoto’s World Championships came competing for Japan in 1991 and 1995 in the flyweight division and in 1994 as a bantamweight.
She also took a silver medal in 1998.
