At the height of the Rob Ford scandal in 2013, members of the Toronto news media would gather en masse and wait for the then-Mayor of Toronto to arrive at his office at City Hall. The cameras would envelop the elevator in anticipation of his short walk from the metal doors of the lift to his office doors a mere four metres away.
