Toronto Marlies Prepare

Under the watchful eye of new head coach Gord Dineen, below, the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League prepared Wednesday for their upcoming back-to-back games Friday and Saturday with North Division rivals Hamilton Bulldogs.

Taking a pair of wins in the ‘away and home’ matches against Hamilton will certainly go a long way to pulling the Marlies out of the bottom spot of their division where they currently sit with six wins and eight points behind the Bulldogs.

Mike Ellis, Marlies Skills Coach working for player development, puts the players through their paces during practice, including Patrick Watling, below, a 21-year-old left winger originally from Sault Ste. Marie.

Marlies right winger Matt Frattin, below, is back with the Toronto club after a series of trades over two years between the Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets. Frattin signed a two-year contract in July with the Maple Leafs.
Tyler Biggs, below, is in his second full year with the Marlies. Biggs won a gold medal with the US team as they were victorious in the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Russia.
